A information evening about Zimbabwe and the struggle of trans and LHBTIQ+ persons.

Since 2018 Shelter City Haarlem is hosting each year human rights defenders from over the world who are invited by the national Shelter City organization for a stay of three months. During their stay they have time to rest, to work on their networks and well being and develop new skills for personal and digital safety.

This year we have the honor to welcome Sam, a trans-man who works for the rights of trans- and LHBTIQ+ persons in Zimbabwe.
During this evening we will show a documentary about Sam and his work. After the documentary Sam and Thomars Shamayarira, who is also participating in the video, will be interviewed about their work.

Samuel MatsiKure, Zimbabwaen and working for the Dutch Aidsfund, will do an introduction about the HIV- disease in Zimbabwe.

After the introductions the guests will have a discussion on stage and the audience are invited to ask questions to the guests.

The evening will be concluded by a rap performance of Sam Poetic!
